The Nutrition Depot
The Nutrition Depot is an inclusive Food Hub located at 945 Park Ave in Nanaimo B.C that is an upcoming non-profit business that has just created a new concept for the idea of a food hub and diminishing food insecurity.
This food hub will support strategies to improve local food security and sovereignty. It is an inclusive centre which welcomes all types of users and works towards building cultural resilience by creating access to healthy food for all. The Nutrition Depot will use a network model that sources food from local farmers and/or grocerswhile also providing programs and training to build skills within the community.
Based on being a non-profit community hub the main goal of this design is to give people a place to connect with other members of the community. Designing with sustainability is a key feature as well as thoughtful design and keeping a modest budget in mind.
